Talisman Winter Show!

The Talisman Winter Show, titled “For the Journey,” will be on Friday, Dec. 7 at 8:00 PM in the Toyon main lounge. All proceeds from the show go towards our group trip to South Africa during Spring Break.

You can buy tickets in White Plaza every day this week (Dead Week) from 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM. Tickets for students are $5 preorder and $10 at the door (for non-students $7 and $12, respectively).

Please come out to support us and hear some beautiful music!

Talisman Auditions are almost here!

In order to complete our 2012-2013 group, we will be having auditions on Tuesday September 25th and Wednesday September 26th. Auditions are open to all Stanford students. Sign-ups will be in White Plaza all week until September 26th, from 11am to 4pm. We look forward to seeing some of you soon!

Talisman Sings for Oprah at Stanford

Talisman was so blessed to be able to sing for Oprah and two of the wonderful girls from her school!

Today helped reinforce for us the universality of the music that we sing and also the ubiquity of music in South Africa. We began by singing one of our favorite songs that we learned on one of our tours to South Africa, Avulekile Amasango. Her two students (or as she lovingly refers to them, daughters) immediately recognized the song and joined us in singing. It was an incredibly beautiful experience for us to be able to share in that moment!

Talisman’s Annual Fundraising Gala will be held on Saturday March 3rd, 2012 at 3pm at the All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 555 Waverley Street, Palo Alto (Admission is free). Proceeds from our gala will go towards funding for our upcoming tour to Atlanta and South Carolina where we hope to share stories with the communities we engage with there and also to gain a stronger connection to the music we sing.

Upcoming Talisman concert

Talisman will be performing for a benefit concert at the Messiah Lutheran Church on Saturday February 11th, 2012 at 7pm. Proceeds go to the Wings Autism Learning Center in Redwood City. The address of the concert is: 1835 Valota Road (& Woodside Road) Redwood City, 94061

Tickets cost $20 and are $15 for senior citizens and children.
